Painting Mum and Dad's House

About a month ago, I started scraping and painting my parents' house in Dartmouth.

It hasn't been painted in probably ten years, so it required a lot of scraping. I'v got one end pretty well painted, one side scraped and primed and the other end scraped. I'm guessing it'll take me another few weeks of intermittent work to get the job completed.

We're waiting at home for the gound to dry up a bit so we can get an excavator and dump truck in to dump fill for the dogs' exercise yard. It'll be nice to give them a large area to run around in.

AdSense

Well I'm giving AdSense a try. I'm not sure what I'll try and get them to target, but we'll give it a whirl.

If it works out, I may get Kim to try it on her website, ShillingtonKennels.ca.

new shelves in the basement!

Last Monday, we had a flood in the basement that soaked everything that was on the floor – I know – you aren't supposed to leave stuff on your basement floor. Well, we got caught. The silver lining to the cloud was that we now have much fewer corrugated cardboard boxes in our house and we built some pretty rugged shelves! There's enough room for 24 of the large "roughneck" containers and phase 2 will be some more shelving around the corner. As soon as "cleanup week" rolls around, we'll get rid of a bunch of other junk and the basement should be looking respectable :-)

bathroom reno

Here are a couple of pics of the downstairs bathroom after Kim's dad and I tiled the floor and Chris and I painted the walls.
